Dr. Christine Nabiryo hands over to Dr. Michael Etukoit

Yesterday, 13 October 2014, a team of Directors witnessed the handover ceremony for the new TASO Executive Director. Mr. Emmy Ngabirano - the Board Vice Chairperson, appreciated the outgoing Executive Director for her efforts in leading TASO for the past two years. Mr Ngabirano went on to welcome Dr. Etukoit , who he said was not new to TASO, and pledged on behalf of the Board to work closely with him. He assured him that the Board was aware of his capabilities and was looking forward to Dr. Etukoit steering the TASO team to even greater heights.
Dr. Nabiryo thanked the Board for all the support rendered to her during her tenure, the Directors and Senior Management for their unending support and ideas, the staff on ground for working hard to keep TASO afloat, the clients for appreciating TASO services, the Donor community for the financial support and programming ideas and finally to God who placed her in that position as a leader. She pledged to remain a part of TASO, renew her Membership subscription and also offered to guide the new Executive Director as he settles into his new office.

Dr. Etukoit thanked the Board for entrusting with him an organization like TASO, he appreciated the outgoing Executive Director for her leadership and promised to encourage the various TASO units to work together and keep TASO at the forefront of HIV programming in Uganda. He promised to share his manifesto, which he said was based upon the TASO Strategic Direction, so that staff would know what he hoped TASO to achieve. Dr. Etukoit concluded by asking that both the Board and his colleagues support him in his new position.

Present during the handover were; the Director Human Resources and Administration , Director Finance and the Chief Internal Auditor.

We bid farewell to Dr. Nabiryo and thank her for her leadership since 2012. And we welcome Dr. Etukoit and pledge to work with him to ensure that our clients get the best services available.
